Set against the backdrop of the country’s 236th birthday, our nation’s top military officials joined New England’s civic & business leaders at the Seaport World Trade Center for the New England Warrior Benefit on July 3, 2012. The Fallon Company sponsored this event, which honored wounded and fallen U.S. Special Operations Forces members and their families, who make the ultimate sacrifice for American’s liberty. Proceeds supported five deserving charitable organizations that address a wide variety of needs from financial help to college scholarships, adapting homes for wheelchair access to providing social support for special operations families. Filled with celebration and ceremony, this dignified benefit honored the bravery, leadership and sacrifice of American troops, and featured a special performance by American Idol winner Scotty McCreery. A motorcycle auction, featuring one-of-a-kind custom Dirico motorcycles designed for each branch of the military, helped to raise funds for families. The event also coincided with Boston’s Independence Day weekend celebration, which included a commemoration of the War of 1812’s bicentennial, a first-ever Blue Angels demonstration over Boston Harbor and the annual turnaround of the USS Constitution.
