The storied Volvo Ocean Race is one of the world’s most formidable extreme global nautical adventures and, in 2009, the competition made its only North American stopover – at Boston’s Fan Pier. The race village at Fan Pier was a center of celebration, food, drink, music, fun and recreation. Thousands of Boston residents and visitors enjoyed this free international sporting event, sponsored by The Fallon Company, and gained firsthand knowledge about the thrilling sport of ocean racing. Event attendees not only enjoyed the action-packed sailing, but also the waterfront’s world-class dining and leisure.
