Racing yachts were not the only visitors to Fan Pier when we hosted the exciting Volvo Ocean Race. The Fallon Company sponsored a pancake breakfast for more than 300 international scouts and His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, who was in Boston to honor Sweden’s status as a competitor in the race. King Gustav, who serves as the honorary chairman of the foundation, was joined by Prince Faisal, the President of World Scouting in Saudi Arabia, and the scouts, who were honored for their achievements and treated to a VIP tour of the race village.
The Fallon Company has been instrumental in helping to raise funds for the foundation and, during the annual board dinner held at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse on the waterfront, the company was honored with membership in the Baden-Powell Fellowship for its contributions.
